What could be better than being under a tent, cool water in hand, and watching a performance of one of Shakespeare’s shows? Not much!

For four summers we have performed Shakespeare’s comedies for an eager, beautiful, public. We started with As You Like It on a whim, a test run, and we truly thought that the only people who would come to our show were our friends and family. Boy were we wrong! People actually showed up, and actually enjoyed themselves.

And we were hooked. Then we did parts of Twelfth Night, then the whole of A Misummer Night’s Dream (with the generous support of CNY Arts), and then a slightly shortened version of Much Ado About Nothing. We perform mostly outdoors in parks, zoo amphitheaters, and outdoor stages. Anyplace where we can bring Shakespeare to new audiences is up for grabs.

Our brand of Shakespeare is exuberant and in-your-face. There is no “fourth wall” for us. We are in the audience sitting in laps, singing, and wisecracking, because we believe that the best way for people to appreciate Shakespeare’s plays is to be part of the show.
